I have completed my first manuscript and am now researching best book publishers for new authors. What should a beginner look for when comparing publishers, especially regarding contracts, royalties, editing, distribution, and author support? Which warning signs should I watch for before signing an agreement? If you have published your first book, what was your experience, and what would you recommend doing differently?
