The 321 backup rule is a method of securing your data in order to minimize the risk of data loss. According to this plan, you should have three copies of your data stored on two distinct forms of media and one of the copies is stored in an isolated location. This isolated copy can either be kept in the cloud or somewhere else. The use of this plan offers protection against various risks including hard disk damage, data deletion, fire, burglary, and ransomware.
