I’m hoping someone here can give me some guidance because I’m honestly at a loss with my 2014 A4 and I don’t know where to turn anymore. The car has the Multitronic CVT transmission, and over the past few months I’ve noticed this really annoying shuddering sensation when I’m accelerating from a stop, especially when the car is cold. It feels like the transmission is struggling to engage properly, almost like it’s slipping and grabbing at the same time, and it’s getting progressively worse. I’ve also noticed that sometimes when I’m cruising at a steady speed, the RPMs will fluctuate slightly, which I’ve read could be a sign of torque converter lockup issues. I took it to a general garage and they did a transmission fluid change, which cost me a fair bit, but honestly it didn’t make any difference at all. The shuddering is still there and I’m worried that I’m just wasting money on band-aid fixes instead of addressing the real problem. I’ve been doing a lot of research online and I’ve learned that these CVT transmissions can have issues with the valve body, the torque converter, or even the internal belt and pulley system, and all of those are pretty serious repairs. Some people say that a simple fluid change with the right OEM fluid can fix minor shuddering, but others say that once the shuddering starts, the transmission is already on its way out and you’re looking at a major rebuild or replacement. I really don’t know what to believe at this point. I’m trying to find a shop that actually specializes in these CVT transmissions because I feel like that’s my only chance of getting a proper diagnosis. I’ve read that finding a trusted Audi CVT transmission repair in Abu Dhabi is key because these gearboxes are so different from traditional automatics and not every mechanic knows how to work on them properly. I’m also wondering if I should just cut my losses and sell the car before the transmission completely fails, or if I should invest in getting it properly repaired. I love this car and I don’t want to give it up, but I also don’t want to sink a ton of money into a transmission that might fail again in a year or two. Has anyone here dealt with CVT shuddering on their Audi? What ended up being the cause and how much did it cost to fix? I’m really hoping to hear from people who’ve been through this because I feel like I’m just going around in circles and I need some real advice from people who actually know what they’re talking about.
