I’ve got a 2015 Mini Cooper S and the brake warning light came on last week, so I ordered new pads online but then I noticed the little sensor wire is also supposed to be replaced. Some forums say you can just twist the wires together to bypass it, but I’m not sure if that’s a good idea long term. I was on that Mini Cooper brake page earlier and saw a button that said “Get More Info” about the wear indicator system, which explained that the sensor is actually designed to break when the pads are low, so you can’t reuse it. Makes sense now. But still, does anyone here just buy the sensor separately or do most kits include it? Also curious if aftermarket sensors are reliable or if I should go genuine Mini for that part. Don’t want the light to stay on forever. Thanks.
