I found a 2018 Audi A6 3.0T with decent mileage for what seems like a fair price here in Dubai, but the seller is a private guy and doesn’t have full service history for the last two years. I’ve heard too many horror stories about timing chain issues and mechatronic failures on these models, so I’m thinking of getting an Audi Pre Purchase Inspection Dubai before handing over any cash. Has anyone here done one of these checks and actually had them find something major like oil leaks or pending transmission codes? I don’t mind paying a few hundred dirhams if it saves me from a five figure repair bill later, but I also don’t want to waste time if most inspections just give you a generic checklist. Would love to hear if it’s worth it or if I should just walk away from this car altogether.

Yes, a pre-purchase inspection is highly recommended when considering a used Audi A6. A professional inspection can reveal hidden issues with the engine, transmission, suspension, and electronics before you commit to the purchase. It also helps verify the vehicle’s overall condition and maintenance history. While the Audi A6 differs from the high-performance Audi RS6 Engine, both models can benefit from thorough checks to avoid unexpected repair costs and ensure long-term reliability.
