My 2015 Civic’s AC started making this grinding noise and then stopped blowing cold altogether. Took it to the dealership for a diagnosis and they said the compressor clutch is toast, quoted me nearly two grand to replace the whole compressor. I’ve been watching YouTube videos and it seems like you can sometimes just replace the clutch assembly itself for a fraction of the cost, but I’m not confident doing that myself. A friend suggested I check out 800sayara.com/honda-repair-abu-dhabi to find a specialist who might be willing to do the clutch-only repair instead of the full unit swap. Has anyone here gone that route successfully? I get that the dealership has overhead but almost 2000 dirhams feels insane for a part that costs maybe 300 online. Just trying to figure out if I’m being unreasonable or if there’s a smarter way to handle this without losing cooling for the rest of the summer.
